Start Doing

Welcome!

This is the Dao of Doing, where we explore what it means to include doing something you love to do in your daily life.  There are a lot of good blogs out there with the message to “do what you love.”  We couldn’t agree more and subscribe to many of them ourselves.  The difficulty we found with them is that their messages usually encourage radical actions similar to selling all your belongings and traveling the world, living with only 100 things, selling your home to live in a tiny house, or quitting your job and starting your own business.

There isn’t anything wrong with those ideas; in fact, we would love to do some of them ourselves.  They just aren’t realistic for many of us, especially if we are just starting out on this path of doing.

What we realized is that it just doesn’t have to be that drastic.  It can be if you want, but it isn’t a prerequisite.  Doing what you love to do can be simple and many times it’s something you already have the supplies for!  We also recognize that sometimes people aren’t even sure what it is they would love to do.

The Dao of Doing is a more gentle and more simple approach to living a life you are passionate about, a life you want to get out of bed for.

This is the perfect place for you if:

  • You feel exhausted and busy all the time.
  • Aren’t sure what it is you would love to do.
  • Feel guilty about taking time just for you.
  • Feel unsatisfied with your day to day life.
  • You dread getting out of bed in the morning.
  • Have supplies for an activity that you don’t want to let go of because “some day” you will do it again.
  • Keep saying, “When (Fill in the Blank), I will finally be able to (Fill in the Blank).”
  • Feel you have many good intentions and ideas but never seem to find a way to take the actions needed to do them?

We are so happy you are here and hope you will stay and “do” with us for a while.
