carving out some cozy comfort time

On Thursdays Kel writes about what it’s like to do what she loves to do; usually that means painting

This has been a pretty busy week without Christmas going on!  My baby turned 12 on Tuesday and tonight we take him out to dinner, I worked a 13 hour shift on Saturday, and I had a doctors appointment where I found out I have not only a sinus infection but an ear infection as well.

With all the hustle and bustle I did not get a chance to work on the octopus for a second week in a row. *sigh*  I did, however, carve out some cozy comfort for me and my family in small ways and in small snippets of time.

There was homemade chicken soup for my scratchy throat,

fun shopping for supplies for handmade Christmas cards made by my paper artist daughter,

(They are all pop ups!)

and I had so much fun sewing the sweater pillows!  I haven’t sewed in years and had forgotten that I really enjoy it.  They were super quick and easy to make.  Trying to remember how to thread my machine was the most time consuming part of it.

My daughter wanted some pillows to match her room.

So, this afternoon I will snuggle down with a sweater pillow, a cup of tea, and a good book to enjoy my creative efforts for this week. ;)

Tomorrow we will have a special post with information about this up coming week and what Tracy and I are doing to get ready for 2012 and our second Doodle!
